Due to recent events with Covid-19, we have seen now more than ever the devastating impact that our every day lives are having on our environment. For the first time in thirty years, the smog has lifted in India and we can again see the Himalayas as pollution levels decreased by 22%; air from Boston to Washington is at the cleanest level for 15 years; and this change in the world has inspired Milan to transform its polluted streets for good - by building 35km of new cycle routes and to give pedestrians more space by widening pavements.

White Pod, Switzerland

An hour from Geneva, White pod is an eco-hotel based in the Swiss Alps and is an experience not to be missed. Whitepod has been designed to be in harmony with the surrounding environment, and located at an altitude of 5,577 ft with over four miles of ski slopes, nature lovers and adventure seekers alike escape to this unique eco-retreat.You stay in your own personal eco-pod made form minimal materials, natural wool and wood and they amend the outside colour of the pods to blend in with the surrounding  environment as it changes from Winter to Summer. The geodesic shape of the pods means that to heat them requires vastly less energy than a standard structure, and the heating system uses sustainable peat burners. With respect for the environment an overriding concern, it’s no surprise that White Pod’s green credentials are impressive.
